OTHER VERY IMPORTANT TASKS RELATED TO PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND TO HELP HAVE A PEACE OF MIND.
 

• Check and test your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
• Check and test your fire extinguishers
• Replace your traditional incandescent light bulbs with LED lighting
• Clean dryer filter often
• Vacuum fiber fabric and dust from the dryer duct
• Replace the furnace filter
• Have cleaned the air duct system
• Clean the kitchen hood filter
• Inspect the caulking around sinks, bathtubs and showers
• Inspect the weather stripping of the windows and doors
• Inspect the caulking of the exterior windows and doors
• Check every exterior air intake and every exhaust vent for obstruction of snow or ice
• Make sure the window wells are not filled of snow
• During winter, close all exterior taps and drain all pipes
• Inspect the roof surface
• Have inspected the heating and air conditioning system
• Check for frayed cords on all electrical equipment
• Check the condition of the house foundation
• Check the condition of the house siding
• Check garage door mechanism

HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT TIPS...

Keep your house humidity level between 38% - 45% especially in the basement for maximum comfort. When the humidity level reaches 55% or more, the risk of mold or mildew increases.

For any extended absence, make sure to turn off the main water source tap to prevent water damage and insurance issues.
